We believe that marketing is holistic and ongoing so we work with CPA firms and wealth management firms on strategic projects or ongoing marketing, but not websites as a sole, stand alone project. But… (isn’t there always a but?)...

A lot of firms think a new website is the solution to their problem (whatever their problem is), when in our experience, it’s common that the website shouldn’t be the next step in their marketing journey.

So, yes, we can build your website, but we’re going to be sure it’s going to help you reach your goals. We may recommend that the first phase of our engagement is a Ready, Set, Go! Assessment to help you get clear on your goals and marketing strategy, or we may need to conduct a brand study so that we can develop compelling language for your site that will attract your ideal clients while politely repelling others.

If you’re looking for someone to build a pretty site, there are a ton of web agencies out there who will give you what you’re asking for, but we’re not the right fit. Like we said, we’re not a website production company, so building a website with us is a bit different than working with other developers. Here are two recent website projects that are pretty typical:

Taking a Client to
the Next Level

An ongoing marketing client’s WordPress site was on a theme that was no longer supported. It was getting buggy, and the website was no longer evolving with the firm. This was an opportunity to take a step back and consider their site with fresh eyes. Instead of rebuilding on WordPress, we transitioned them to HubSpot CMS site to shorten their tech stack and eliminate the need for plug-in updates and reduce the risk of hacks. As a wealth management firm, creating the right impression of the advisors every step of the way is essential. We focused on the advisors’ bio pages and adding their bylined articles both on their own bio pages on the corresponding service pages. Now they have a site that has a modern look and sophisticated functionality that will truly grow as the firm does.

Don’t Put the cart Before the Horse

We were approached by a CPA firm looking to rebuild their website. We agreed that their current site was outdated and likely not a good reflection of the firm, but in order to really build a website that would help them reach their goals of attracting ideal clients and competing with national firms for clients in their niches, we needed to do a brand study first. Today their website showcases their niches, highlights their thought leadership and does the lift of helping prospects choose them. During the pandemic, the firm created a PPP forgiveness workbook that got over 44,000 downloads across all 50 states. Their new website easily handled the explosion in traffic while giving an excellent first impression to first time visitors.
