The bees are happy and healthy. Like all of us, they are enjoying the summer! I got a second harvest of honey in late July. This ornery bunch is both ready to protect the colony from my husband who just wants to mow the lawn, and very productive on the nectar and pollen foraging and honey production front.

I have purchased lotion bars before, but for the first time I made my own using wax from my hive. I bought silicone molds and made 12 bars just to try myself and pass on to friends. They're a great first attempt and I already have ideas to improve the next batch. I started beekeeping for the pollination and the honey, but I'm excited to begin to use the wax as well.
