We’re all friends here, so I’ll be honest with you!

There’s a name change in store for Mainsheet Marketing… the name just isn’t helping me reach my goal of brand recognition and growth.  I get squints at my business cards, name tags get read as “Main Street” and precious few people know what a mainsheet is to understand the rationale.

I’ve found that the impact of this is that I’m not living up to my own standards.  My last blog post was an embarrassing eight weeks ago.   I think that a name change is the answer because my name (my real name) will be behind it.  The new company name will be Simons Marketing, LLC and in early 2014, my URL will be alisonsimons.com.

So, I apologize for the confusion I’ve caused since Mainsheet launched in March – and for the future short-term confusion that comes from a rebrand.  But I believe that better times are ahead.

I’m committing to writing (blogging) on a regular basis and have ideas such as sharing excellent Ted Talks and reviewing business books that I read and tying them to marketing and your business.  I’m also going to try my hand at video and will continue to share marketing inspiration in its many forms.  I hope that you will let me know when you have questions so I can address topics of most interest to you.

2014 is going to be a great year and I’m so glad to be sharing it with you.

Happy New Year!          – Alison
